This class is the basic pre-requisite before taking more advanced or specialized trainings. An introduction to Qigong, Yiquan, Tai Chi Chuan and Meditation, this class will introduce you to several different methods and give you a chance to see what resonates with you. A guide to future training choices.

Mind/Body Visualizations Of Elite Athletes

Mental preparation is the key to success in sports, business and in life itself. Our method of "Clear Relaxation" will give you a road map to mental preparation, clear awareness and comfortable performance. Over 30 years of study and training has gone into these lessons, and we'd like to share them with you.

Tai Chi/Range Of Motion For Seniors

A special class for older students, with a focus on "chair tai chi" which allows participants to practice while sitting in chairs. I have been teaching this in assisted living facilities and nursing homes for over ten years, and we have found this to be very beneficial for older people who have participated.

Detox and Focus (Mind Body Connections)

Through the methods of Qigong, the body is able to gradually cleanse and purify itself. The ancient Chinese texts refer to "bone marrow washing" and "tendon changing" and these processes are said to occur as a result of dedicated practice in the methods that will be taught to you.

Tai Chi Chuan

I offer and teach several style of Tai Chi, including Yang Style 24 Tai Chi, Tai Chi 42, Small Circle Tai Chi, and Wudang Tai Chi Sword. This selection of styles allows me to customize classes according to students' experience and comfort levels, and provides something for everyone.

Meditation For Home Or Workplace

Meditation  takes practice, and we will experience several methods in this class, leading participants to know the simple joy of meditation. The fact is that meditation can be practised any time and anywhere. Do you need incense, candles, soft lights and music to meditate? Not at all; meditation is about your inner balance, not soft cushions and candles.

Yiquan (I Chuan)

This method of energy training uses standing meditation postures to instill a sense of quiet emptiness for the mind. Physically, it teaches (through time and consistent training) how to release tension and blockages in the soft tissue of the body, which is the first step toward mind/body freedom and power. The basic methods of Yiquan form the foundation of every one of the courses listed above; this course is offered as the beginning of deeper training in the arts of mindfulness, meditation and energy development.

Traditional Chinese Martial Arts

Traditional Martial Arts training can help develop coordination, focus, and self confidence. For thgose who enjoy a more physical training, these arts can provide the foundation while continuing in the Mind/Body approach. A few of the styles I offer are:

Xingyiquan (Hsing-I Chuan) translates as "Mind/Intention Fistr" and includes Five Elements Style, Twelve Animals Style, Combination Style, and Five Flowers Cannon Style.

Ba Fan Shou translates as "Eight Overturning Hands" . I teach the origninal "Upper Eight" style which is the basis and most important part of this ancient style. There is also two other sections which were added to this form later, and I can teach those also.

Mian Zhang Quan means "Cotton Palm" or "Continuous Palm". There are several styles of Mian Zhang in China, most of which come from the modern translations of the art. The style I learned from my teacher is called the "Old Style" and is seen in Shanxi Province China, still practiced by the "Old Timers". The style consists of six sections, and is very vigorous.

Wu Tang Tai Chi Sword

Tai Chi Sword Training is an advanced method that is a natural progression for more experienced Tai Chi practitioners, and one that many people enjoy very much. The Wu Tang (or Wudang) Tai Chi Sword style is a very active style which includes Ba Gua stepping along with more vigorous techniques. Regarding this style, it is sometimes said: "Body like a dragon crossing the sky--sword like lightning in the wind".
