Gary Carbone

As a 30-year practitioner and teacher, I have trained many people from all walks of life and of all ages. My background includes advanced training in Qigong, Yiquan, Tai Chi Chuan, Meditation, Kung Fu, Isshin Ryu Karate, Shiatsu Therapy. I have had the honor to be accepted into the lineages of several masters, and this is where I received my training over several decades. In 2001, I competed in the First International Invitational Xingyiquan Competition in the ancient city of Pingyao, Shanxi Province China, placing 2nd in my division. While in China (2001-2002), I continued my studies with students of Master Zhang Xigua, a contemporary of my teacher, Master Chen Junhao. As the representative of Master Chen's system, I became the 7th Generation in a direct lineage in China. Upon retiring from competition, I began teaching Xingyi Quan, Tai Chi Chuan, and Qi Gong full time.

My meditation training dates back to 1975 when I took formal initiation from Sanskrit scholar Srila Bhaktivedanta Swami. I also traveled through Haridwar and Rishikesh India, practicing meditation at the foothills of the Himalayan Mountains.

This background of total immersion allows me to bring the teachings of the masters to a modern day audience. Mind/Body disciplines have been the focus of my life and training for over thirty years, training directly from documented lineages (a lineage is a chain of teachers who can be traced back to the founder of a particular art or style). Be assured that my teaching comes from decades of training and experience, not from weekend seminars and "certifications".
